Supported by all circles of society, 2016 China Tourism Academy Summit was held on April 29-30 in Tangla Beijing. Li Jinzao, chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), and Xu Hui, a member and deputy secretary general of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC, and vice chairman of China Democratic League (CDL), attended the Summit themed "Big Data, Tourism Research, and Tourism Think Tank Construction" and gave speeches. Du Jiang, vice chairman of CNTA, and Fan Fang, a CDL central committee member and secretary of the CDL department of political affairs, attended the Summit.

Li Jinzao pointed out that China's tourism academic circle did do a lot of researches and scored many achievements. Today's wave-like burst of tourism growth has brought more questions to be answered by the academic circle, including tourism statistics reform, role of tourism industry in national economic society, and the basic law of the development of tourism industry. For tourism big data, we should actively use big data, but not have blind faith in big data. For "Tourism + Internet", we should actively use Internet with necessary standard and guidance, but not have blind faith in the Internet.

Scientific research projects of CNTA in 2016 were released at the Summit, and outstanding research achievements awards of CNTA in 2015 were announced.

President Dai Bin gave prizes to the winners of 2016 China Tourism Academy Summit outstanding papers, and gave a closing statement themed "Big data, tourism research and think tank construction". He pointed out that big data has become a key support for entrepreneurial innovation, and "Internet+" has become a new economic growth point. In an open and sharing age, to build a tourism research and think tank, it's necessary to have frequent interactions and dialogues with professionals and management from different sectors, fields and levels, and to develop talents and teams.

More than 200 people, including heads of departments, offices and affiliated institutions of CNTA, representatives from co-organizer of the Summit, media representatives, and tourism experts and scholars from all over the country, attended the Summit.
