The Culture and Tourism Market during the 2021 May Day Holiday was Stable and Orderly
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism carefully
implements the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the
requirements of the central government leaders, and coordinates COVID-19
prevention and control and holiday market work in accordance with the decisions
and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council. Based on
the data from local culture and tourism departments, telecom operators and
online travel service providers, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism estimates
that 230 million domestic tourists travelled during the May Day Holiday in
2021, up 119.7% year on year, recovering to 103.2% of the pre-epidemic period
on a comparable basis. Domestic tourism revenue reached 113.23 billion RMB, up
138.1% year on year, recovering to 77.0% of the pre-epidemic period on a
comparable basis. There were no major workplace accidents and no cases of
epidemic spread through the cultural and tourism system. The degree of
satisfaction of tourists during the holiday reached 84.8, a level of “satisfied”.
