In order to carry out instructions made by CNTA party leaders about assisting local-level tourism data center building, President Dai Bin led a team to Hangzhou Municipal Tourism Committee to investigate tourism statistics and data center and attended the plaque-unveiling ceremony of Hangzhou Tourism Economy Lab on the afternoon of January 20. President Dai Bin together with Li Hong, Party Secretary and Chairman of Hangzhou Municipal Tourism Committee unveiled the lab and delivered a speech.

After the ceremony, a thematic symposium on Hangzhou’s tourism statistics and data center was held. In-depth discussions were made centering upon tourism statistics reform, as well as tourism big data acquisition and application.

President Dai Bin noted that Hangzhou Municipal Tourism Committee had made initial headway in market-based statistics and comprehensive tourism data application through thorough big datamining and professional integration, correlation and sharing of heterogeneous data. He hoped that Hangzhou would keep trying to combine conventional tourism statistics and big data while striking a balance between generalities and specifics, macro and micro levels, and image- and content-building. He said that Hangzhou’s tourism big data, if steadily pushed forward, would serve as references for tourism statistics and data center building at municipal levels.
