Professor, Ph.D., Doctoral Supervisor,vice-chairman of the second Academic Committee of CTA, Principal Assistant of Sun Yat-Sen University, Director of the Management Committee Board in the Pearl Sea Campus of Sun Yat-Sen University. He is also the Director of the Tourism Development and Planning Research Centre and an expert committee member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). In addition, Bao works as a Geography appraisal group member of the State Council’s Academic Degree Committee, vice chairman of the Geographical Society of China and the expert committee director of Tourism Geography in the Geographical Society of China, as well as a member of International Academy for the Study of Tourism.

Research fields:Tourism Geography, Basic Theory and Tourism planning.Bao’s researches on fields such as Tourism Geography, Theme Park, Tourism Planning, Tourism Influence and Tourism Planning, etc. have great academic influences throughout the world.

Main research achievements: Bao has carried out 5 NSFC (Natural Science Fundation of China) projects and 1 key foundation project proposed by Ministry of Education, and has published over 150 papers on well-known Chinese and overseas academic periodicals and more than 10 academic compositions. He’s also in charge of the Tourism Investment Planning in Western China (Southwest area) and the Overall Tourism Development Planning for famous tourism places or cities like Hubei Province, Hunan Province, Kanas Lake in Xinjiang, Shangrila area, Pearl Sea, Guilin, Suzhou, Xishuangbanna, Mount Huang, Linzhi, etc.
